Joey Auzenne (Hair) The native Houstonian moved to NYC after graduating from Loyola University New Orleans, with a BA in Opera. Joey has done theatre on national, regional, and local levels, such as Singin’ in the Rain, Freedom Train, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and the ABC Network Diversity Showcase. Currently he’s been pursuing a career in voice-overs, recording numerous commercials for radio and television. Recently he’s co-starred on Law & Order and has a reoccurring role on All My Children. Christopher Beier (Lullaby For A Dying Man) is a recent graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of Drama. Recently he appeared in The Line That’s Picked Up 1000 Babes through Small Pond Entertainment, and The Crooked Cross at Playwrights Horizons Theater School. Last summer, Chris wrote and starred in his own play, Proof by Disproof, also through Small Pond Entertainment. This is his first time working with PWP, and he is honored to take part.

Robert Berliner (Hair) is delighted to be making his Off Off debut working with such talented and inspired artists. Favorite credits include Closer (Larry), The Seagull (Trigorin), Jesus Christ Superstar (Caiaphas), and The Fantasticks (Matt). Upcoming: Monroe Bound at the Cherry Lane Theatre. Michelle Beshaw (Why Tuesday Never Has A Blue Monday) has performed with Puppeteers Cooperative, Target Margin, Fusion Melange Teamsters, and is a member of the Czechoslovak American Marionette Theatre Favorites among her many strange and wonderful adventures in New York theatre are CAMT's productions of The Life and Times of Lee Harvey Oswald (Oswald wife’s and mother),at LaMaMa; Twelve Iron Sandals in which she was the Evil Queen; The Prose of the Transiberian and of the Little Joan of France, at LaMaMa; Viola, Sebastian, Sir Andrew Aguecheek, and Curio, in Twelfth Night; and the Water Maiden in Rusalka, in Lahore (Pakistan, that is, not the deli on Crosby St.) Also memorable and notable: Underground Man, and Bobok with Fusion Melange Teamsters, India Song with Target Margin, and all projects with The Puppeteers Cooperative. Favorite works Michelle has written and produced: A Thundering Notion, presented at Los Kabayitos Puppet Theatre; Like a Caterpillar at 220 Gallery; The Napier Project, as part of Mabou Mines Resident Artist Suite, 2000; Lulu: A Woeful Highseas Rhapsody of Sunken Wishes and Curious Fishes, at The Puppet Library; and a collection of children's theatre pieces based on her Tulip Forest Tales.

Loren Bidner (XXXXXXs) was last seen in Peculiar Works’ In Praise of Folly: the Don Quixote Project. Other credits include The Open Road Anthology and 365 Days / 365 Plays at this year’s Humana Festival, Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure (Actors Theatre of Louisville), Lady Windermere’s Fan director Moises Kaufman (Williamstown), The Trip to Bountiful (Signature Theatre) and readings at NYTW and Williamstown.

Frank Blocker (Lullaby For A Dying Man) a member of Equity appeared in Peculiar Works’ Don Quixote Project, as Roderick in The Fall of the House of Usher, Mortimer in Brecht’s Edward II (Creative Mechanics/NY), and Dr. Steve in The Gates of Helen (E-Merging Writers/NY). He is currently playwright-in-residence to new company Fn Productions. Plays include Eula Mae’s Beauty, Bait & Tackle (co-author), off-Broadway at the Jose Quintero, award-winning solo show Southern Gothic Novel (NY Fringe Festival, Baltimore, Columbus), Patient Number (winner Inner Voices Social Issues 2007), Kiss and Fade, (Short Attention Span Play Festival), and Alice w/composer William Wade (The York Theatre). In addition to publishing humor book Queer Chronicles: The Flaming of Atlanta, he manages PlaywritingOpportunities.com. Blocker has appeared, and many, many readings around town. Roseann Blumhagen (The Mulberry Bush) is thrilled to be a part of Peculiar Works in the East Village Fragments while make her acting debut! Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and now living in New Jersey, Roseann has studied dance for over 5 years performing in such shows as The Joy of Movement,  Cinderella, Annie, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, and The Wizard of Oz.

Michael Cross Burke (18 Happenings In 6 Parts) is an award winning queer performance artist. His work has been presented throughout NYC, nationally, & internationally. He has appeared in leading roles in feature films by acclaimed directors including Todd Verow, T.S. Slaughter, & the legendary/iconic Mike Kuchar. Burke is the Director of the Trinity/LaMaMa Performance Program.

Diana Byrne (The Mulberry Bush) is thrilled to be working with Peculiar Works Project in the East Village Fragments. Oscar Castillo (When Queens Collide—Ludlam Homage) A native New Yorker, Oscar has been acting for 12 years. Oscar is a founding member of the Theater Project in NJ. Last Fall, he performed in the West Village PWP project Successful Life of 3. For the past 3 years he has toured with the Pushcart Player’s Children’s Theatre Co. This past year Oscar has been co-writing a sscript based on the artwork of Paul Cadmus with his friends at the Mad Shag Theatre Co. As always, Oscar is thrilled to be working in NYC and is excited to be a part of OFF Stage.

Frances Chewning (America Hurrah) is pleased to be working with Jeff Janisheski again after their recent collaborations for NYTW’s Usual Suspects series and Peculiar Works Project. She is co-creator of the webseries The Mimi and Flo Show. This is her 2nd Avenue debut.

Matthew Cummings (When Queens Collide—Ludlam Homage) a native New Yorker, has been performing since childhood, sometimes in front of others. NY credits include The Present’s Tiny Point (#2/Forty/Tom), Barfly Redux (Chinaski), and Manologues (Commuter/Manaries). His film credits include Same Sex America (TRIBECA/HBO), Jack (HBO) and Postal (DUSTY). Matthew is also a commercial and voice over talent. He studied with Pam Scott, Judith Searcy, Rawleigh Moreland and Mary Ann Conk. He has never been the target of an overripe fruit or vegetable. Lashea Delaney (Conquest of the Universe—Vaccaro Homage) is a graduate of the Tisch School of the Arts where she was fortunate to be a part of many wonderful productions. Since then she has also pursued her passion for playwriting and hopes to keep doing new and interesting work.

Jason Denuszek (Balls) actor, writer, and director Regional credits include Steppenwolf Theater, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, The Court Theater, American Theater Company, Timeline Theater, Next Act (Milwaukee), PROP THTR, theatrevolution (founding and artistic director) Montana Shakespeare in the Parks and Will and Co. Long Wharf Theater. NY credits include Irish Repertory Theater in drama desk nominated production of The Hairy Ape. Currently directing a punk rock adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet entitled BEN, the fucked up tale of my bro Ro & his cunt Jules premiering later this summer.

Jodi Dick (America Hurrah) is excited to be a part of this Peculiar Works Project. Favorite roles include, Abra in East of Eden, Nanette in Fetes de la Nuit, and Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing. She holds her MFA from the Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard/ART.

Patricia Drozda (Conquest of the Universe—Vaccaro Homage) Patricia’s New York Theatre and Performance Art credits include: the revival of Dionysus in 69 at The Performance Garage; The West Village Fragments; Improv Comedy at Broadway Comedy Club; and coming this August, Spilled Milk at The Hot Fest (Dixon Place). Patricia has also performed in The Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati, Indianapolis Ballet Theatre and The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. Patricia holds a B.A. in Theatre from Indiana University and an M.F.A. in Performance from Florida Atlantic University. Patricia wishes to thank her family and friends for their love and support.

Stephanye Dussud (The Maids) Her voice will soon be heard as Reboldeaux Soldier in the video game Sword of the New World. This summer, she resumes the roles she originated in Temi Rose’s Once Upon a Time in Times Square (Ensemble Studio Theatre) in a filmed version of the play. stephanyedussud.com

Carter Farmer (Conquest of the Universe—Vaccaro Homage) a NYU graduate, is glad to be back doing the East Village Fragments after participating in the Birth Ritual from Dionysus in 69 last year in the West Village Fragments.

Jonathan Brian Furedy (Hair) is a graduate of The University of Arizona where he was a member of the Arizona Repertory Theatre Company, and played such roles as Orin the Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors, Ali Hakim in Oklahoma!, and Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls. Other credits include The Geek in Side Show (Gallery Players, NY), The Fantasticks (Arizona Theatre Company), Dames at Sea (Music Theatre Arizona), and A Christmas Carol (Actors Theatre of Phoenix). Proud member of Actors’ Equity.

Robert Gaines (Futz) studied acting with Eloise Watt and Michael Becket. West Village Fragments was his professional debut. Before that he played countless roles with the Instant Shakespeare Company, but his favorites were Sir Andrew Aguecheek and Henry VI. He also playmasters for the ISC and produces readings of classical plays just for fun.

Shelley Gershoni (America Hurrah): MFA from Columbia University. Favorite roles: Maria (Twelfth Night), Poncia  (Crocodile Eyes), Maria (A Small Hole), Sonya (Uncle Vanya), Lydia (Dead Letter Office). Awards: “Best Ensemble of the Year by the New York Observer” (House of Bernarda Alba) and “Outstanding Play in Fringe” (God’s Waiting Room).

Melissa Gessel (Hair) comes fresh from Seattle, working on new and experimental theater. She has performed with 5th Avenue Theatre, and Theater Schmeater. Prior, she worked in Utah, with Pioneer Theater, and Salt Lake Acting Company, as well as Utah’s Shakespearean Festival. Favorite roles are Hedy LaRue (How 2 $ucceed), Catherine (Memory of Water), and Jubilee Climax from (Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens).

Holly Glass (The Mulberry Bush) never went lightly. She graduated in 1988 from San Diego State University with a BA in theatre arts. Promptly moving to New York, she participated in a variety of off off broadway theatre productions, independent films and print ad campaigns. Always the ingenue and now a nun. She is currently starring in the heaftiest role of her life—sane mother to two young boys in the East Village.

Stephen Graf (18 Happenings in 6 Parts) studies theater, interpretation theory, and linguistics at Swarthmore College.  He has been performed in various plays including, Merma Neverdies and Spring Awakening, and has created several solo and group performance projects on topics such as humor and sexuality.

Jacqueline Gregg (The Proucer, Epilogue & Prologue) is a graduate of Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. She has worked with theatre companies including The Dream Keeper Theatre Company, The Queen’s Company, Target Margin Theatre, Tiny Mythic Theatre, Westside Repertory Theatre, and Dar a Luz Company, under the direction of Reza Abdoh. Past productions include The Story, A Woman of No Importance, The Duchess of Malfi, The Rover, Much Ado About Nothing, Mamba’s Daughters, Measure for Measure, Macbeth, The Three Sisters, The Courtesans, Tight White Right, and a hip hop, soul filled production of Hamlet. She is currently an actor with Only Make Believe, a theatrical charity devoted to children in hospitals. Jacqueline also works extensively with various educational theatre organizations, bringing classical as well as contemporary theatre to schools in and around New York City. She is thrilled to be working with Peculiar Works once again!

Josh Hartung (The Bundle Man) is an actor, writer and musician. He comes to Peculiar Works via the Inverse Theater Company. He has authored nine stage plays and five teleplays—one of which actually aired on television. He can also be seen on the occasional open mic night in Brooklyn, playing the ukulele.

Bridgette Hayes (Monuments) is thrilled to be working with director Lauren Keating again having worked with her on Carol Churchill’s Seagulls last summer at the Williamstown Theater Festival. Her Credits include: NYC: Happy Sauce and The Contrast. Other credits: The Lower Depths, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Three Sisters, Demon Dreams, The Importance of Being Earnest. Bridgette has studied at the London Academy of Dramatic Arts and received her BFA in Acting from Boston University’s School of Theater Arts.

Michael Jay Henry (Why Tuesday Never Has a Blue Monday) recent credits include Natty Walker in The Spickner Spin, the winner of the Audience Favorite Award at the NYC Fringe Festival, Henry in Mud (Emergent Theater Co., NYC), Jacobo in Fools’ Mass (LaMaMa, Etc.), Hersh in The Quarrel (Barrington Stage Co.), Doyle in Floyd Collins (Gallery Players), Christy Mahon in Playboy of the Western World (Triad Theater), Lance in Two Gentlemen of Verona (Woodstock Shakespeare Festival) & countless improvisation performances. TV appearances include comedy roles on Comedy Central and Court TV.

Sadrina Johnson (Futz) After returning from tour where she led some slaves to freedom via The Underground Railroad as Harriet Tubman, Sadrina is happy to be tapping back into her Virginian roots by narrating a good old-fashioned pig screwing. Justin Jones (Hair) is making his Off-Bway debut having performed at Casa Manana, Theatre 3, The Meyerson Symphony Center, and Radio City Music Hall. Laura King (The Mulberry Bush) BA in Theatre/Dance from Trinity College. Recent New York credits include Best Party Ever, The Butterfly, and the voice of Marie in Woyzcek. Buffalo credits include most notably the role of Judy in Pepper Park.

Phillip Kirchman (Hair accompanist), a Texas native and New Yorker by way of San Francisco, CA received his Bachelors degree in Piano Performance in 2003 from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA. This after a long absence from music while supplementing his income in luxury retail. He came to NYC to persue his MM in vocal accompanying at the Manhattan School of Music where he studied with Warren Jones. Since arriving in New York, he has MDed at the New London Barn Theatre in New London, NH and the Mac- Haydn Theatre in Chatham NY. Among his list of show credits: A Chorus Line, The Music Man, Forever Plaid, Cats, Funny Girl, Gigi, Guys and Dolls, 42nd Street, Fiddler on the Roof, Brigadoon, South Pacific, Into the Woods, Annie, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Carousel, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Sound of Music, La Cage ux Folles, Nuncrackers, and Copacabana. Last year he MDed the staged reading of The Man in the Iron Mask at the Lamb Theatre. Phillip has performed in recital with the Marilyn Horne Foundation and has worked with the Connecticut Grand and Connecticut Opera, Gotham Chamber Opera, Brooklyn Opera and the opera department at the Manhattan School of Music. Upcoming for Phillip is a new cabaret show written by Lee Cavallier entitled Guy Pride, which opens the last week of June at Don’t Tell Mamas, and performances of Twist for the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

Kara Knappe (Birdbath) is making her NYC debut and is excited to be back on stage! She has previously been seen in David Mamet’s Sexual Perversity in Chicago and Shakespeare’s classic Hamlet. Some of her favorite roles include Jane in the Los Angeles premiere of Unrelenting Relaxation by Amanda DeMaio at the Stella Adler Theatre and GeraldAnne in The Miracle of Mary Mack’s Baby by Johnna Adams.

Ben Kopit (The Hawk) Theater credits – The West Village Fragments (The Brig), For Whom The Southern Belle Tolls, Waiting For Lefty, God, Return From Utopia, Medea, Billy and Han. Film credits – Family Values, Ready For Action, The Wonderlust Room, Wannabe, Scorpions & Frogs, Piss Cup.

Steven Lasher (That’s How the Rent Gets Paid) is a NY School for Film and Television alumni, last seen in 15 Films about Madonna (A&E network). Recent credits: the Emperor in The Unspeakable Act (23 elephants) and performing in the World Hunger comedy showcase for Charity at Hard Rock Cafe in NY. Steven is currently working with Alice Spivak in her advanced Scene study classes.

Adam Law (Balls) Adam is originally from Massachusetts where he received his B.A. in theatre. He has been performing in the city for almost a year now and has appeared in numerous Off-Off Broadway one-acts and various short films. He would like to thank Helena for this opportunity as she also gave him his NYC debut role as the Rumple in 13th St. Repertory Theater’s production of Rumple Who?.

Jeff Lee (XXXXXXs) is originally from Southern California where he worked with various theatre companies, including Furious Theatre and Independent Shakespeare Co. He currently studies at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and performs with improv group Baby Grenade. Graduate of Pepperdine University (Acting and Directing).
