In the Works

As a developmental performance company, we are continually developing new projects. Some are past productions that we're planning to revisit, some are long-term projects that require more time and resources to be fully realized, and some are the dream projects that are still in the earliest planning stages

MANNA-HATA

Manhattan is a community of layers – political, social, economic and individual – that have been piling up for four hundred years. Our next epic adventure, Manna-hata, will take audiences on a vertical performance journey--beginning in a subterranean environment and traveling up through a building onto a rooftop--to peel away the strata and uncover some of the most compelling stories in the long and vibrant history of the world's most famous metropolis.

THE PILLOW BOOK PROJECT

Featuring puppets, projections, live performers and immersive, constructed environments, The Pillow Book Project combines two installations into one event: Spring Pictures of the Floating World (Shunga), 6 short works which take place in separate rooms; and the Art of the Bed Chamber (Ishimpo), a larger piece in a central open space. Audiences will travel from the episodic Ishimpo performance into each of the Shunga rooms for simultaneous performances that repeat throughout the 6-hour exhibition. Come and go as you please throughout the event: see only a portion of the performances or stay and enjoy the full-cycle experience.
